The notary checks that the person appearing to sign the document has reached the age of majority (18 years and above) and possesses the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. If any of the parties are minors, the notary cannot notarize the document.
Voluntary consent
The notary confirms that all signers are willing and able to sign the legal documents without any signs of coercion. If there are indications that a party is being forced to sign against their will, the notary cannot proceed with notarization.
